Scouts have a lot of responsibility during meetings,
but we also have a lot of fun, too!

All meetings start out with the entire pack
participating in  a flag ceremony, where
3 scouts lead the saluting of the American
Flag, and the saying of the Cub Scout
Promise, Law of the Pack, and Cub
Scout Motto
.  The flag is then folded,
and the scouts separate into their dens
(Wolf, Bear, Webelos).

In the den meetings, scouts review what they have learned so far, and talk
about their assignments.  The den leader will sign any new assignments they
have and mark their progress towards their badge on a chart.  This is called
Advancement.

At the end of the meeting, all of the dens get back together for games, crafts,
songs, and cheers
.
If the scout earned 4 merit points during the meeting, he'll
receive a lollipop on his way out the door.

Did your scout earn a lollipop this week?  If not, ask him why...

During the meetings, scouts receive points for "Doing Good Deeds."
These include:
                  - Wearing their uniform

                  - Leading the group in songs
                  - Doing assignments
                  - Behaving during meetings
                  - Doing other 'good deeds'

If the scout receives 4 points during the meeting, he earns a lollipop.
The scout with the most points at the end of the year is the winner
and receives a $20 gift certificate to Toys R Us!
